The artist, with this exhibition designed during a residence at the Center, wants to represent an inner allegorical journey that each visitor will be called to do during the journey.
Everything revolves around the idea of travel, even physical, that the visitor makes through the various spaces inside the museum. The source of inspiration is the journey described by Dante Alighieri in “The Divine Comedy” through the three otherworldly worlds: Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso. Like the journey made by the Great Poet – which has a double key to literal and allegorical reading – this “journey” also has an end: if for Dante it is purification, for Bianconi it is the discovery of the origin of the imagination, element that feeds and generates the very desire to get on the road. At the end of the path, the viewer is faced with a large wall with a hypothetical landscape composed of arrows, designed to indicate that Hell, Purgatory and Paradise are a bit ‘everywhere and immediately reachable by taking any direction, visitable even during a single day.
